What if we could see the Christmas gifts under the tree? What if the Christmas gifts came in glass boxes instead of solid packages all wrapped up?
What would the gifts look like under your tree?
Would there be beautiful articles of clothing? Maybe some stunning jewelry?
Would there be the latest in hi-tech gadgets like virtual glasses?
For the people we serve each day– if they had their wish– Christmas gifts under the tree would be boxes of diapers, cans of baby formula and clothing for their toddlers.
For our friend in poverty, the best Christmas gifts are for their children and infants, especially those living on the streets. For many of the poor, food is the best gift of all. What if you were constantly eating sandwiches and leftovers that passerby’s handed to you? A hot meal while sitting at a table instead of standing in a line is a gift that they will remember.
Your wish for gifts under the Christmas tree may not look like their wishes, but now is the time to make their wishes come true– Christmas is only one day away.
Help us to help them now. We don’t have much time left to make a wish come true for our friends in poverty. Christmas is a time for wishes and gifts under the tree. We only have one day left to make some of their wishes come true.
